Using wind generators for purposes of Net Metering requires several considerations. The Energy produced by a wind generator varies from model to model. For Grid Tie applications wind systems can be used with Batteries or without.
Net Metering without batteries may use a SMA WindyBoy grid tie inverter, as well as Skystream 3.7.
These direct connect UL listed inverters take the output of your wind generator and push it back into the grid, through your electrical meter. Every month this energy is applied against your consumption of energy from the utility.
