Stand-Alone Solar Power Systems
|
|
Systems include all major components of Solar Panels, Racks, Charge Controller, Battery Bank, Safety Disconnects, Lightning Arrestors, Grounding, Fusing, and Inverter.
Stand Alone solar power systems are not connected to the grid.
These systems are "Stand-alone" power supplies that must do three things: convert energy, store energy, and condition power for delivery. Outback, Xantrex, and Beacon Power make robust UL listed Stand Along Solar Power Systems.
The following solar power systems are designed to provide your own electrical utility. These solar power systems are reliable and robust with many examples in the field. These systems are essentially solid-state, there are no moving parts.
Sizing a solar stand-alone system requires a keen knowledge of the load. Your load will draw amps and volts. The product of the two is Watts the power draw. Stand Alone Systems are defined by the Power (Watt) rating of the Solar PV Panels, the Current (Amp) rating for the charge-controller, Capacity (Amp-hours) of the Battery Bank, and the Power (Watts) in Volts and Amps of the Load that defines the proper Inverter.
