Solar Area Lighting

Solar Powered Area Lighting systems are an economical alternative to bringing electricity to the light.  Trenching and wiring costs can often exceed the cost of the light pole and fixture.  Add to that traditional cost of installation, and the electricity to run the light 8-14 hours per day.

The Solar powered area light system circumvents this by being self power onsite.

The area lighting system is composed of a Primary Power Converter such as a Solar PV panel or small or micro wind generator, a tower, a Voltage Regulator (also called Charge Controller), a battery bank with Voltage matched to the DC voltage rating of the wind turbine.  Including Safety Disconnects, lightning arrestors, fusing, grounding a Solar Area Lighting System includes these components.

Larger than security lights, that turn on when their IR sensors are triggered and stay on only 10-30 seconds, area lights are on continuously.  Solar Area Lights must be sized properly with the Solar PV panel to charge enough battery capacity to run the lights at full brightness for 8-14 hours per day.
