There are many components used in a renewable energy system. By category they are grouped as Power Converters, Power Storage, Power Conditioning, and SCADA (System Control and Data Acquisition).

The correct Power Conditioning equipment is vital to a successful Renewable Energy power supply.
Solar Energy systems will or may require the following, and considerations of deployment: Power Converter (wind generator or solar PV panel), Mounting Hardware (will your project be ground mounted?, Roof mounted?, Pole Mounted?.
Energy Storage, if required, as batteries are rated as Energy Capacity. How many hours can you run your load on batteries with no other input.
Power Conditioning, if required, do I want AC power output? If so, then you'll choose an Inverter. Safety Disconnects/Fusing, and Lightning Protection can be added.
